Condo living in Arizona!
The Green Area has berms - or dikes - about 6 feet high. The condos are built at a higher elevation. When we get our hard desert rains, there is a
lot of run off. There can be a little pond in the depressed area. Also
there is a drain in the center of the low area. Everyone loves this area -
play ball, walk their dogs, or just sit and enjoy life.

I found these photographs sent by Freya to be very informative as I have never been to Arizona. Thanks, Freya!

Surprise !! I have a photo entry for you.
I took a number of pictures at the Scottsdale Civic Center area, but the ones I went for I'll use at a later date. It's called "Little Red Schoolhouse" and was used as a school years ago but is a small historical museum now. However - it's closed for the summer.
It's beastly hot - 110 today. I'll do my best throughout the summer. So here's for July.

A natural desert wash collects rain water and
in heavy storms carries the run off into the usually dry Salt River.
Other times it is used for recreation.
