Faith Marie's Submissions for the Month of August 2007!
I shot this photo of my neighbor's flowers when I was paying my daily morning visit to her yard. She doesn't mind, she adopted a feral too! I honestly don't know why the background came out so dark, as it was about 7 a.m. and the sun was beginning to shine, but I like that it did. It sets the flowers off nicely. I used a FujiFinepix, close up setting, plus, I cropped the photo so it did not take up so much space.
I saw that Jessie and her family sent in some additional pics after the first submission and I'd like to send two more for me for August if I could. First pic is a close up of a lovely fern. I don't know anything about flowers and ferns, but thought it was very pretty so I snapped it. The second photo was taken in Lancaster County in Intercourse, and I know that humans are not to be in photos, but hope you make an exception with this one. I call it " Amish convertable".
In this case, the inclusion of humans in this photograph of the Amish family riding along in a horse drawn carriage is necessary and acceptable. I myself, have never seen a cat holding the reins of a horse's bridle.
Faith Marie's Submissions for the Month of September 2007!
Foto 1 is the steeple of the Tabor Church that is right down the street from me. Tabor dates back to 1760, when George Steitz, the founder of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, gave land to church officials for the price of five shillings and the “payment of one red rose in the month of June forever.” Because of this, Tabor is known as the Red Rose Church and celebrates this rental payment still today, over 240 years later. It's the oldest church in the city and chimes the hour from the steeple plus plays beautiful music three times a day that can be heard for blocks. We all love to listen to it. Foto 2 is of the Cornwall Iron Furnace that ran from 1742-1883. At one time it produced the most iron ore in the country. Cornwall Iron Furnace is an extraordinary example of the furnaces that dotted the Pennsylvania countryside in the 18th and 19th centuries. Faith Marie's Submissions for the Month of October 2007!
Two submissions for October. Both were taken at Root's Country Market in Manheim, PA. It is a combination indoor/outdoor market and flea market held every Tuesday. Photo #1 is hand crafted mailboxes. I thought these were little mice houses but Meowmie told me what they really were. Photo #2 is a nice variety of Amish made furniture against a starry white wall. The wall makes for a nice contrast. We have a rocker just like the second one in our livingroom. Taken with a Fuji Finepix. Normal settings.
