Binka's May 2007 Submissions!
Hello Henri, This week I went for a walk around one of the local reservoirs and I thought that I would take my camera with me. Soon after I set off on my walk I saw some geese with some goslings. I have never seen baby geese with their parents before, so I took a photo of them and I am sending it to you. The white bits on the water are some kind of blossom that has blown onto it. Further along on my walk I came to another little pond at the side of the reservoir and saw some tadpoles eating the blossom that had fallen onto the water. I think that it is hawthorn blossom and I didn't know that tadpoles ate it. After that, I started to walk up a lane, which I had to go along, to get to the other bank of the reservoir and I walked past a field of horses. As I walked past one of them I was surprised to see that he started to eat one of the rotten old fence posts. I don't know why he did this as he had a field full of succulent grass and flowers to eat. As I didn't think that anyone would believe me, I took his photo and am also sending it to you. I got other photos this week that I think might interest you, but maybe I should save them until next month.
Binka's June 2007 Submissions!
I thought that the subject of clocks was a good one that you chose this month and it got my imagination going. I took some photos of some clocks, from different angles, on a black t-shirt that I laid on the floor. Then I decided which images I wanted to use and used PhotoImpact to make the clocks into objects and put the clocks into different layers, with an opacity of 50%, so that they were each a bit see through. On the first foto I used some wall clocks that I have in the house, plus an egg timer and the cat is an old foto of my sister, Moonlight, that I had a gif of, I put her onto a different layer, so that it looked like she was looking at the sand running through the egg timer. The background lighting, that makes it looks like it is lighter in the middle, is a lighting effect from PhotoImpact. On a walk around town I saw some unusual clocks in a charity shop, that I thought might be useful for the subject this month. One is a dog, another a baby and the third an antique style clock, with picture frames attached to it. The baby and the dog were 40p each and the antique style clock with the frames was £1. I thought that they were a good buy. The fotos in the frames are print outs of two old family fotos (which I have on my computer) that I put in there, they seemed to go with the style of the frame. Again, the background lighting, with the glow effect, is a lighting effect from PhotoImpact that seemed to suit the image.
I found this bottle, shaped like a clock, and thought that I would send you this image, maybe it will be OK for June, but maybe it is not needed as I have already sent some images. It is up to you if you include it with my June submissions.
Binka's July 2007 Submissions!
Here are my fotos for July, The first foto is of a steam engine called "Leander", it was the 20th anniversary of the East Lancashire Railway and this was one of the engines that was pulling one of the trains. I noticed that someone was getting married at a local church and saw this unusual car that the bride and groom were using. It looks even older than my human's car and I feel sorry for them that they could not afford a new one, maybe they will love each other a lot, though which might make up for any lack of funds. Binka
